The all NEW – slovETNO

Slovenian identity was shaped and preserved by the nation’s culture. A large part of our culture are old slavic believes and slavic mythology, which have been transferred to modern times. Old Slavic beliefs are extremely complex. Each religion destroyed the monuments and foundations of the previous one, and the period of Christianization, which brought Christianity, managed to transfer some pagan beliefs in a very sophisticated way both in religion and in everyday life.

The slovETNO clothing line was born from research of old Slavic symbols and beliefs. Out of the desire to preserve the slavic mythology in modern times. From passion for design and cultural heritage. Old mythological stories are now written on to modern clothes, which remind us of our roots and our past. Clothing and accessories are named after the slavic gods or characters from mythology that our Old Slavic ancestors worshiped. And just as the gods were important to our ancestors, so were the symbols that had magical and protective meanings. They were never random and connected man with nature. People wore the symbols in places where contact with another person was the most common – wrists, neck, head, shoulders and where they had contact with the ground – feet.
