Manifesto

JKH identity draws inspiration from the rich heritage of a small nation whose identity has been shaped by culture evolving over centuries. Nurturing, preserving, and translating this legacy into modern life is the brand's core mission. "The past is all a person can ever know in their life... no one lived in the present or will live in the future." – Laibach, Kapital 1992.

The JKH identity brand responds to today's world—to the fast-paced lifestyle and the tendency to forget small pleasures, nature, roots, and heritage. The collections introduce new, contemporary patterns inspired by Slovenian tradition. The symbols that form these textile patterns are drawn from stories, archival textiles, and myths, all updated through design for the modern era.

The symbolism within the patterns is never accidental. They contain encoded messages of ancient beliefs and the meaning of life. The motifs maintain a magical, protective, and symbolic significance, closely tied to nature. Because the creators of cultural heritage are unknown, it belongs to all of us. In its work, JKH identity respects the principle: "Take nothing that is not yours—not from a person, not from a community, not from nature, nor from a culture that does not belong to you."

Entering the JKH identity world means discovering the grand heritage of a small nation and shaping one's own identity through the choice of thoughtful garments. The products are designed to accompany a woman throughout her entire day—from daily errands in the comfort of natural materials to evening events where the fabrics tell stories of Slovenian identity. The brand's goal is to create fashion that not only looks good but makes the individual feel excellent.

Spreading stories of Slovenian identity and utilizing sustainable approaches are at the core of our operations. By manipulating symbols, using contrasting natural materials, recycling textile scraps, and maintaining local production in small series, JKH identity advocates for responsible fashion.

The expansion of the JKH identity world has led to the realisation that design reaches far beyond clothing. It is about crafting identity in all spheres of life—from garments to capsule home textile collections and accessories that bring a sense of place, memory, and belonging into interior spaces.
