The new JKH identity collection explores domesticity, identity, and sustainability, gradually building as part of the creative design process. It is a tribute to Helena Kottler Vurnik—an artist, illustrator, painter, and graphic designer—who, together with her husband, outlined Slovenian identity through national symbols and the Slovenian tricolour.

HELENA is a woman with many faces: an artist, a wife, a mother, an Austrian, and a Slovenian, yet a forgotten figure in Slovenian history. Mysterious, special, and reserved, she operated in the shadows, but her work, created alongside her husband, carries great significance. Between the two world wars, she learned what it meant to be an independent artist, a woman who moved from Vienna to Slovenia and found refuge in her studio, where she was exactly who she wanted to be—HELENA.

In every woman lies Helena—a being full of desires, passions, ideas, and a longing for independence. A mysterious woman, full of talents and ambition for success. The collection explores what it meant in the past to be a woman who wished to succeed and what it means today. It is a tribute to women, their energy and talents—to all those who dared to follow their dreams and still do.

Natural materials, the scent of art nouveau, shades of gold, and textiles that once adorned Slovenian homes now find a new purpose and form. These carefully selected pieces, gathered from attics and flea markets, create a sense of domesticity in the new collection, encouraging women to live in their full strength. Domesticity is expressed not only in clothing but also in the choice of footwear—slippers made from leftover materials from the collection. These unique slippers, specially crafted for JKH identity by Alenka Design, add even greater sustainable value and emphasise handmade production.
